Sheila Owusu, BSc, MBChB, MGCPS, MPH

About

Dr Sheila Agyeiwaa Owusu is a Pediatrician and Lecturer with the University for Development Studies (UDS) and Tamale Teaching Hospital in Tamale, Ghana. She completed her medical education in the same school and did her pediatric residency with the Ghana College of Physicians and Surgeons. She has a Master’s in Public Health from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration and is currently a WANETAM-TALENT PHD fellow in Infectious and Tropical Diseases at LSHTM.
 
Her research interests are at the intersection of adolescent health, chronic disease, pediatric nutrition, and pediatric Infectious disease.
 
She is passionate about finding innovative and pragmatic solutions to improve the diagnosis of pediatric TB, especially in low- and middle-income countries, because it is a grossly under-researched but topical public health issue. Dr Owusu is keen to contribute to the development and practical implementation of tailored diagnostics and interventions for TB in children within public health facilities.
